The company that originally produced Black Diamond Strings, the National Musical String Company, was founded in 1897 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, following a merger of earlier musical string manufacturers. 1932: NMSCO was bought by C. Bruno and Son Incorporated and affiliated with the Gibson String Company.
